Three people and six states worth of paperwork

Inspired by owner discussion on Reddit.

Three people and six states worth of paperwork. When we decided to hire remotely I thought it would make things easier find great people, skip the overhead, work from wherever, but no one warned me that wherever turns into a full time job in itself.

Spreadsheets work until they don't

Most 1–15 tech shops start in Google Sheets. The breaking point is when open leads outgrow one person's memory — not when accounting needs ERP.

Layer automation, don't rip and replace

Keep QuickBooks for books. Keep Jobber for scheduling if it works. Add speed-to-lead and quote follow-up without migrating ten years of history on day one.

Import open pipeline only

You don't need every dead lead from 2019. Import what's still winnable and automate from there.
